BBK DAV College won GNDU Inter College Power Lifting Championship

Amritsar, Dec. 9 (Punjab Post Bureau)- Power Lifting team of BBK DAV College for Women won the GNDU Inter College power lifting Championship and weight lifting team got Runners-up position in GNDU weight lifting Inter College Championship held at DAV Complex, Amritsar from 13^_14 November. College power lifters gave a splendid show by defeating H.M.V College, Jalandhar and BD Arya Girls College, Jalandhar while weight lifters defeated R.G. College, Phagwara, S.D College, Dinanagar and BD Arya Girls College, Jalandhar. Ms. Navjot, Ms. Manpreet,  Ms. Manpreet  and Ms. Karamjit won gold medals in 47kg, 63kg, 84kg and +84kg weight categories respectively. Ms. Pardeep, and Ms. Manpreet won silver medal and Ms. Sandeep won bronze medal in power lifting. Ms. Manpreet won gold medal in 63kg Weight Category, Ms. Navjot, Ms. Manpreet, and Ms Manpreet won silver medals and Ms. Sandeep won bronze medals in weight lifting. Five players i.e Manpreet, Manpreet, Navjot, Pardeep and Karmjeet are selected for All India Intervarsity power lifting & weight lifting Championship which is going to be held at Grantor from 11-14 January, 2016.  Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Neelam Kamra, Mrs. Sweety Bala H.O.D, Sports Department felicitated the students and motivated them to maintain the good position in future as well. Ms. Aruna &  Ms. Rajwant Kaur teachers of the Sports department congratulated the students for their achievements.
