Mock drill related to rescue operation conducted at GNDU

PPN1012201508Amritsar, Dec. 10 (Punjab Post Bureau)-  National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), 7th Bn., Bathinda successfully conducted mock drill related to rescue operation from high rise building, patient assessment during disaster, first aid, resuscitation and faint trauma patients during earthquake and fire disasters. This refresher programme was conducted under the aegis of UGC-Human Resource Development Center of the Guru Nanak Dev University. The NDRF team was led by Assistant Commandant Mr Pradeep Kumar along with full unit subordinate staff. The team demonstrated use of equipments used in rescue operation. There are 12 rescue and relief teams in India and 7th Battalion is stationed in ITBP campus in Bathinda and is responsible for Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir states. Teachers participants from four states participated in the mock drill and highly benefited with the first hand experience. The course will conclude on December 16, 2015. The participating faculty was highly enthralled and voluntarily participated in the rope rescue operation and thanked the university authorities for making this a life time experience.
