Balidaan Divas observed at DAV Public School

PPN2312201505Amritsar, Dec. 23 (Punjab Post Bureau)- The Students of DAV Public School, Lawrence Road, Amritsar observed Balidaan Divas at its premises to commemorate the death anniversary of Swami Shardha Nand .He was an educationist and Arya Samaj missionary who propagated the teachings of Swami Dayanand Saraswati. The students presented a role  – play highlighting the important events from his life. They portrayed how he was influenced by the courage, skill and strong personality of Swami Dayanand  at Bareilly when he attended his lecture. They informed the audience about his valuable role in building India in 19th Century. He was a promoter of education for girls and sacrificed his lucrative profession when  a call came from Swami Dayanand Saraswati to serve  Arya Samaj. He spent his life serving the nation by joining the struggle for independence under the leardership of  Gandhi ji .He also worked for the betterment of the society and aimed to produce good and disciplined citizens in the community completely imbued with ancient Vedic ideals and a national outook. In the end , the students recited poems narrating his inspirational life and took a pledge to follow his ideals. Regional Director, Amritsar Zone, Dr (Mrs.) Neelam Kamra, Principal BBK DAV College for Women, Lawrence Road and the Manager of the school, Dr. Rajesh Kumar , Principal DAV College, Hathi Gate sent their best wishes for the students. They said that Swami Shardha Nand Ji was a scholar and worked for the poor. They added that students must follow the ideals shown by the great saints and scholars and live a compassionate life. Dr. Neera Sharma, Principal of the school said that Swami Shardha Nand was a valiant warrior of the war of independence and presents a living portrait of bravery and sacrifice. She added that we must all remember him with reverence.
