Lecture on Swami Vivekananda organized at BBK DAV College

PPN1301201619Amritsar, Jan 12 (Punjab Post Bureau)- Swami Dayanand Studies Centre of BBK DAV College, Amritsar organized a lecture to celebrate the 153rd Birth Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda in college campus. Ms. Rajni Dogra, Principal, Saint Sarangdhar Senior Secondary School, Batala road, Amritsar was the chief guest. College Principal Dr. Pushpinder Walia along with senior faculty members, Mrs. Manjot Sandhu, Mrs. Neeta Dhawan, Dr. Anita Narendra and Dr. Rashmi Kalia gave a floral welcome to the esteemed guests. While expressing her views on the occasion Ms. Rajni Dogra in her speech enlightened the students with life and ideology of Swami Vivekananda’s efforts to spread Indian Philosophy, Yoga and Meditation across the globe. She focused upon his humanistic, spiritualistic, educative and philosophic ideas that could pave a great way in solving the current challenges and problems of society. Moreover, she said that Swami Vivekananda had great expectations from the youth of the country who, by imbibing the principles of selflessness, hard work and education can model a world of his dreams. She added that Swami Vivekananda laid emphasis upon education for all, especially for women, which can go a long way in removing ignorance.

Principal Dr. Pushpinder Walia talked about the principles of Swami Vivekananda who has influenced all generations, classes and castes. Emerging as one of the greatest youth icons, Swami Vivekananda’s greatest ideals were – divinity in humanity and belief in oneself. Dr. Walia stressed on the need to follow the footsteps of Swami Vivekananda in order to pay a real tribute to him. At the end of the lecture, Dr. Pushpinder Walia honored the chief guest with a memento. Dr. Renu Bhandari, HOD, Political Science, conducted the stage. Members of teaching and non-teaching staff as well as the college students were present on the occasion.
