New Delhi, Jan 22 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Manjit Singh G.K. President of the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) hitting on the Aam Admi Party (AAP) convener and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal today said that his intentions towards the victims of 1984 Sikh genocide were not good, because even one year after setting up of Special Investigation Team (SIT) to reinvestigate the case of genocide the matter was embroiled in missing and relocating the related file. G.K. said this while addressing a press conference today. He demanded a thorough probe into the whole episode by CBI as to how an important file went missing and after few days the Delhi government is claiming that they have found it. “There is something really suspicious about the functioning of state government which need to be probed”, G.K. demanded.Kejriwal need to explain to the people what is holding the Delhi government against starting investigations into the genocide, asked G.K. who is also president of Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) in Delhi. “The matter is very close to the heart of Sikhs who have gone through tremendous pain during the genocide and 31 years after that in the wait for justice, so I want to tell Kejriwal not to do politics on the issue”, G.K. said, asking Delhi CM to explain what has he done for the sake of victims and families of genocide on 1984.
“SIT was formed when Kejriwal was running his government with the support from Congress party and we had at that time said that intentions of AAP led government in Delhi were not clear, which has proved true now”, said G.K. AAP and Congress are two sides of a coin, and none of the two parties want actually want to do anything for the sake genocide victim families, he also said.
If Kejriwal is so serious for genocide victims and their families he should have supported the SIT formed by the BJP led central government and given staff and other paraphernalia, added G.K. saying that Kejriwal is raking the issue because elections in Punjab are approaching and he is looking for political benefit out of it.“We have politically eliminated Congress party leaders Jagdish Tytler and Sajjan Kumar the perpetrators of 1984 genocide but the congress party made best efforts to save them from going to the gallows”, said G.K.
Speaking on the compensation disbursed by the Delhi government, G.K. said it has been revealed by our party that it was the money received from the central government with evidence to prove it.The Delhi government need to explain has it given any job or houses or any other benefit to the genocide victims and their families other than acting as a postman and passing on the compensation amount received from the central government to a few families.
Manjinder Singh Sirsa General Secretary of DSGMC alleged that the file went missing after a meeting between AAP leader Sanjay Singh and Tytler, which raise question mark on the AAP claims of supporting Sikh cause.Hitting on HS Phulka he said that a statement by Phulka that a SIT formed by Central government was functional and a SIT formed by Delhi government was not doing anything has proved the AAP in Delhi is not serious for the genocide victim families. “All claims by Kejriwal in his address in Maghi conference in Muktsar, Punjab were false and malicious and he need to explain his double speak as to why he is making such comments just for political benefits”, said Sirsa.
Senior SAD leader Avtar Singh Hit, former MLA Harmeet Kalka, DSGMC senior Senior Vice President Mahinder Pal Singh Chadha, Vice President Satpal Singh, Joint Secretary Amarjeet Singh Pappu and SAD spokesman Parminder Pal Singh were also present in the press conference.
