Sukhbir Badal directs to accomplish construction of entrance Gate to holy city by Baisakhi

PPN0302201611Amritsar, Feb. 3 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Sukhbir Singh Badal today visited various sites of ongoing development projects to review the status of works besides announcing that the under construction world class catchy entrance gate to Holy City will be dedicated to the countrymen on this Baisakhi. Mr. Badal accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Mr. Varun Roojam and senior officers of District Administration issued instructions to all authorities engaged for the completion of ongoing projects to ensure completion of projects well in time so that the dream of making Amritsar as one of the most developed city in the country could be translated into reality.  The Deputy Commissioner inspected the beautification work at Golden Temple Plaza façade and issued directions to authorities concerned to ensure the work completed in stipulated time frame. He also asked Deputy Commissioner to personally monitor the construction of plaza basement where 4 halls were under being built at a cost of Rs. 101 crore. He also directed authorities concerned not only to ensure acceleration in the pace of different works but also focus on timely completion of projects vis-à-vis complete perfection. Mr. Badal also reviewed the preservation work of heritage building of Town Hall to be maintained at a cost of Rs. 1.5 crore. He also asked Municipal Corporation to accelerate upgrading work of lanes, streets, interior roads leading to Sri Darbar Sahib for the facilitation of lakhs of visitors. He said that this work will also witness a steep decrease in traffic chaos at adjoining areas of Sri Darbar Sahib. The Deputy Chief Minister along with Deputy Commissioner, Commissioner Municipal Corporation Mr. Pardeep Sabharwal, Commissioner of Police Mr. Jatinder Singh Aulakh also visited the sites of Bus Rapid Transit System near Khalsa College. Mr. Badal also asked Mr. Roojam to regularly monitor the progress in the project as the Punjab Government was committed to complete the project at the earliest. He said that construction of civil work on this prestigious BRTS project was at full swing. He said that this prestigious project at a cost of Rs. 500 crore will also be accomplished in coming months with elevated corridors. Meanwhile the Deputy CM also reviewed the status of entrance gate to be constructed at a cost of Rs. 7.39 crore. He also said that this entrance gate will be dedicated to the countrymen by this Baisakhi as the work was on advanced stage of completion. Prominent amongst those present on the occasion included Mayor Mr. Bakshi Ram Arora, Mr. Gurpartap Singh Tikka, Acting President of SAD Urban unit, Mr. Navdeep Singh Goldy and officers of various departments concerned.
