A Talk on ‘Cleanliness’ held at Dav International School

Amritsar, Feb 8 (Punjab Post Bureau)- A talk on cleanliness was organised by DAV International School, Amritsar on 8^th Feb, 2016. The whole event was planned to support The Swacch Bharat Abhiyan launched by our Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi. It was presided over by Mr. Pradeep Sabharwal, Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, as the Chief Guest. Dr. Raju Chauhan, Health Officer  MCA, Mr. Chanchal Singh Chief Sanitary Inspector and Mr. Sanjeev Arora, Sanitary Inspector were also present on the occasion. The event was started by lighting of the sacred lamps followed by the floral welcome of the worthy guests. A melodious welcome song and an inspiring Nukkad Natak conveying the importance of Cleanliness in human life were presented by the students of the school. The students also pledged to maintain cleanliness in and around their city and also to spread this message further. In her address Principal Anjana Gupta extended her heartfelt felicitation to the worthy Chief Guest for gracing the school with his benign presence. She also assured that she would make every possible effort to support the Swacch Bharat Campaign and conveyed the students to do the same. While talking to the students Chief Guest Sh. Pradeep Sabharwal remarked that he was overwhelmed to be there at such a prestigious institution of the city. He motivated the students to zealously take part in this Clean India Campaign and make the dream of our worthy Prime Minister come true. He also told about the various upcoming projects of Municipal Corporation with regard to cleanliness of the city. On this occasion, prizes were awarded to the Best Poster Making Entries of the students of classes VI, VII & VIII and also to the students who presented the ‘Nukkad Natak’. The program concluded with the singing of the National Anthem.
