Pangoora receives 2 more girls, number touches to 123

Amritsar, Feb. 10 (Punjab Post Bureau) – The life-saver Pangoora being run by District Red Cross Society has touched the number to 123 as it received two newly born girls recently. The newly born two girls were received by Deputy Commissioner Amritsar Mr. Varun Roojam accompanied by Additional Deputy Commissioner Mr. Tejinder Pal Singh Sandhu. Mr. Roojam informed that with this the number of Pangoora family had increased. He said that now this family had 19 boys and 104 girls. He said that the both girls were medically examined at local Parvati Devi Hospital, where they found healthy. The both will be sent to the centre at Ludhiana, where her adoption will be made possible to a deserving family, he added.

Giving details about the Pangoora Mr. Roojam said that this unique initiative under ‘Pangoora’ scheme started by District Administration in in 2008. He said that at that time Administration had set up a cradle outside the centre where people leave a child and ring the bell. He also informed that the administration of centre cares for each and every child received here.
