Basant Panchami Celebrated with Fervor at DAV Public School

 

 Amritsar, Feb 12 (Punjab Post Bureau)- The stPPN1202201608udents of DAV Public School , Lawrence Road welcomed the Spring Season with great zeal and fervor. The students worshipped the Goddess of knowledge, Goddess Saraswati seeking  wisdom and intellect. They also sang folk songs  to celebrate the festival of kites , Basant Panchami that marks the beginning of the Spring Season. The school bore a festive look with the colour yellow and organge dominating the décor. The day was also dedicated to pay homage to the great sacrifice made by a teenager Hindu, Haqiqat Rai, who preferred death to conversion to Islam. So firm was his belief in Hindu philosophy and such great pride he took in being a Hindu that no lurement and even threat to his life could weaken his determination. Born into  a Puri family in Sialkot , Punjab in the 18th century , he is an epitome of faith and determination. In the end the students took a pledge to lead their life with same conviction and determination.

Regional Director Punjab Zone A , Dr. (Mrs.) Neelam Kamra and the Manager of the school, Dr. Rajesh Kumar, Principal DAV College in their message to the students said that students must take inspiration from the life of people who stood for their rights  and did not give up under any circumstances.

Dr. Neera Sharma Principal of the school gave her best wishes to the students on the occasion of Basant Panchami. She asked the students to celebrate the festival of kites in its true spirit and seek blessings of Goddess Saraswati for their bright future.
