Host KCW lifts Khalsa Colleges’ Youth Festival Trophy

Amritsar, Mar. 13 (Dharmwnder Singh Rataul)- The two day long First Khalsa Colleges’ Youth Festival today witnessed huge cultural bonanza of dance and singing as the festival concluded with the host Khalsa College for Women (KCW) bagging the overall running trophy. The College scored well in Gidda and other dance item while the Khalsa College bagged the first runner up prize and Khalsa College of education the second runner up. This was the first Festival of its kind involving all the 12 Khalsa Colleges spread in the state where the hundreds of students showcased their talent dance, singing competitions, fancy dress, mimicry, skits, debates, discussions, kawishri, group dance, shabad gaayan and display of traditional dresses, action songs and quiz competitions.

While presiding over the prize distribution ceremony, Khalsa College Governing Council honorary secretary Rajinder Mohan Singh Chinna gave away the trophy and prizes to the winners and certificates to the participants in the respective categories. Khalsa College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences College KCW stood best in literary items, Khalsa College in Music and Fine Arts while KCW in Theatre. Chhina stated that the idea behind the festival was to provide opportunities to the students to display their capabilities as artists. He said KCW Principal Dr.Sukhbir Kaur Mahal made elaborate arrangements for the festival to be hosted in a meticulous manner.  KCGC officer bearer SS Abdal, Gurmohinder Singh. Principal Dr.Mehal Singh, Dr.JS Dhillon, Dr.Amarpal Singh Dr.SP Kaur Dhillon, Dr.RK Dhawan, Dr.Jaspal Singh, SK Jand, Neelam Hans and others were present during prize distribution will be held tomorrow.
