DAV Public School Declared Best Project School

Amritsar, Mar. 16 (Punjab Post Bureau) – The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) honoured DAV Public School, Lawrence Road, Amritsar with the  Best  Project School Award. The school has been honoured for its continuous participation in projects related to environment organised by TERI as a part of awareness campaigns undertaken by UNESCO. Since 2005, more  than 150 students from the school have been  actively taking part in the Green Olympiad followed by  Terra Quiz with the aim to raise awareness among the masses about the deteriorating  environment . At the local level, the Eco – Club of the school , with its Green Brigade has taken up  the responsibility to encourage people to  switch to environment friendly activities and life style.

Regional Director , Punjab Zone A , Dr.(Mrs.) Neelam Kamra and the Manager of the school, Dr. Rajesh Kumar ,  Principal DAV College Amritsar appreciated the efforts of the school for  spreading awareness about the impending danger to the environment because of human interference. Dr. Neera Sharma, Principal of the school congratulated the students for their constructive efforts to save  environment .She added that  the country needs responsible citizens who are  aware of their duties to  bring a positive  change. She said that she was happy to see her students grow into conscious and enlightened citizens who will play a prominent role in shaping the future of the nation.
