
Amritsar, Mar.18 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Under the aegis of DAV Centre of Academic Excellence, DAV CMC New Delhi and the dynamic leadership of Regional Director , Punjab Zone–A, Dr. (Mrs.) Neelam Kamra , a performance Enhancement Programme for teachers teaching classes IX to XII was held at DAV Public School Amritsar. 95 teachers from DAV Schools under Amritsar Zone attended the workshop which was conducted for nine subjects i.e English, Science, Mathematics, Social Science, Computers, Music and Dance, Informatic Practice, Political Science and History. The workshop was inaugurated by Dr. Neera Sharma, the Principal of the school . While welcoming all the resource persons for the workshop and the participants she emphasised on the need to keep oneself updated with the latest in the field of education.
Regional Director, Punjab Zone – A Dr. (Mrs.) Neelam Kamra sent a word for the teachers. In her message she said that the aim of these workshops is to bring a qualitative improvement in the teaching–learning process with the objective of enhancing learner achievement .She emphasised on making the students capable of coping with the stress and preparing them for the real world.
Mrs. Sunita Chopra, Mrs. Ravinder Kaur and Mr.Vikas Khanna for Science, Mrs. Nidhi Sharma for Maths, Mr. Balwinder Singh and Mr. Manvinder Singh for Social Science, Ms. Monica Bhalla and Mrs. Inderjit Sekhon for Computers, Ms. Shama Sharma, Mrs. Kanica Sharma and Mrs. Suman Sohal for Music and Dance, Mr. Gaurav Gupta for Informatic Practice were the resource persons from DAV Public School. Ms. Kanwalpreet for English and Mrs. Anju Sehgal for Political Science were the resource persons from Police DAV, Jalandhar and Mr. Mukesh Gupta from Police DAVAmritsar was the resource person for History.
During the workshop, the resource persons stressed on the importance of adopting different techniques for motivating students and making the content interesting .They engaged the participants in different activities and in the end a healthy discussion on problems faced in the class was held. The workshop for all the subjects was a success as many new ideas and innovative ways to enhance teaching – learning process were developed.
