3 Packets of Heroin and 2 Pak Sim Cards recovered by 137 BN BSF in Ferozepur Sector

Jalandhar, Mar. 24 (Punjab Post Bureau) –  Border Security Force personnel have successfully seized 3 packets of contraband suspected to be heroin and 2 Pak SIM Cards (Zong & U Fone Company) from Punjab Border on 23rdMarch’ 2016 in the area of responsibility of Border Out Post New Gazniwala, Ex- 137 Bn BSF, Sector Ferozepur.

            Keeping in view the vulnerability of Border due to high grown wheat crops and heightened activities of smugglers/ANEs on border, Inspector General BSF Punjab Frontier has issued operational guidelines to all the Sectors under Punjab Frontier for further strengthening the border domination so as to effectively check activities of Anti National Elements on Punjab border with Pakistan. Accordingly, DIG Sector BSF Ferozepur directed Field Commanders to maintain extra vigil on border to thwart the attempts of Anti- National Elements. Tactical Operations are being mounted to foil the attempts of the smugglers/Anti-National Elements during this season.

            Based on specific information about concealment of narcotics in the fields ahead of Border Security Fence near International Border a Special Search Operation was carried out by BSF troops ahead of Border Security Fence in the area of responsibility of Border Out Post New Gazniwala, Ex- 137 BN BSF, Sector Ferozepur. At about 9.25 hrs, during search of the area, the BSF search party recovered 3 packets (approx Kg each) of contraband suspected to be heroin and 2 Pak SIM Cards (Zong & U fone Company) which were buried near a tube well. Further investigation is in progress. The enhanced vigil of BSF troops has once again thwarted the attempt of smugglers/Anti National Elements to smuggle contraband items into India.
