Mountain Terrain Cycling Expedition from Kingal to Losar by 11 Guards

PPN3106201601Amritsar, Mar. 31 (Punjab Post Bureau) – A highly motivated team of twelve soldiers from 11 GUARDS of Double Victory Fmn successfully completed their mountain terrain cycling expedition from Kingal to Losar on 31 March 16. The team was led by Lieutenant Ashok Shukla & was flagged off by Brigadier Sandeep Singh, Commander Double Victory Fmn on 12 Mar 16. Expedition team in about 15 days covered approximate 400 KM of distance in the upper ridges of Himachal Pradesh with heights ranging from 6726 feet to 14931 feet. The team successfully overcame heavy snow, inclement weather & difficult terrain. During the expedition, team also visit the local villages and enhanced awareness about Indian Army and exhorted the locals to preserve the rich and diverse ecological system in their immediate environment. Adventure activities of such extreme nature instill team spirit, physical & mental courage, high level of endurance, discipline & spirit-de-corps in young soldiers. The successful culmination of expedition was highly appreciated by one & all & team was complemented by Brigadier Sandeep Singh, Commander Double Victory Fmn during the befitting ‘flagging In’ ceremony conducted on 31 March 2016.
