DAV International School celebrated 19th Foundation Day with great fervour

PPN0604201608 PPN0604201609Amritsar, April 6 (Punjab Post Bureau)- Principal Anjana Gupta presented garlands to accord a hearty welcome to the distinguished guests.  While addressing the media persons, she remarked that it was a moment of great pride for her.  Established in 1998, DAV International School, under the directions of Arya Ratan Dr. Punam Suri (President, DAV CMC & APP Sabha, New Delhi) has progressed by leaps and bounds in the past 18 years.  With a huge strength of 5480 students, the school enjoys the reputation of being one of the most prestigious institutions of the city.  Due to the untiring efforts of teachers and students, the school has attained name & fame not only in the field of academics but also in sports, art, music and dance.

         Sh. J. P. Shoor, Director (PS-I) & Aided Schools, DAV CMC, New Delhi was the Chief Guest on this occasion.  Mr. Harinder Sohal, a renowned music director and singer alongwith his better half  were present as special guests.  Dr. V. P. Lakhanpal (Chairman of the school), Dr. (Mrs.) Neelam Kamra (Regional Director, DAV Public Schools, PB – Zone A) and Principal Dr. Rajesh Kumar (Manager of the school) were also present.

         A CD titled “Bhajanjali” comprising Bhajans written by Sh. Satya Pal Pathik & sung by the students & music teachers of the school was released on this pious occasion.  The father-son duo Sh. Satya Pal Pathik and Sh. Dinesh Pathik melodiously sang some vedic bhajans.  Sardar Harinder Sohal left the audience spellbound with his remarkable singing.

         In his address, Chairman of the school Dr. V. P. Lakhanpal extended his heartfelt felicitations to the Principal on the completion of 18 years of successful functioning of the school and gave his blessings for many more fruitful years to come.

         Sh. J. P. Shoor expressed his sense of pride for being a part of the 19th Foundation Day of the school. He added that since its inception this school has been working on the principles of Mahatma Hans Raj Ji and thus created a special niche for itself in the field of education.

         In the end special tokens of love were presented to Sh. J. P. Shoor, Mrs. & Mr. Harinder Sohal, Dr. V. P. Lakhanpal, Dr. (Mrs.) Neelam Kamra, Principal Dr. Rajesh Kumar, Sh. J. K. Luthra, Advocate Sh. Sudarshan Kapur, Mrs. Nirmal Gupta, Sh. Satya Pal Pathik, Sh. Dinesh Pathik, Sadhavi Madhura Nanda, Mrs. Balbir Kaur Bedi, Principal Dr. Anita Menon, Principal Dr. Seema, Principal Dr. Neera Sharma, Principal Ajay Beri, Principal Kiran Bala, Dr. K. S. Manchanda, S. Satnam Singh, Dr. Nikhita Kahlon, Mr. Surjeet Sharma, Mr. Vijay Sharma, Mr. Rakesh Mehra, Mr. Sudesh Anand, Mr. Satish Sood & Mr. Murari Lal Ji. The alumni of the school who had brought laurels to the institution participated in the sacred Hawan alongwith their parents. They were also honoured with special gifts.  This function was followed by Rishi Langar in which all the esteemed guests, staff, students of the school relished the sacred food.
