Intramural Volley Ball Tournament held at DAV Public School

Amritsar, April 30 (Punjab Post Bureau) – The students of Std XII ( all streams ) had a gala time yesterday as they competed for the glittering trophy in the Intramural Volley Ball Tournament. The sports department of the school organised the matches under the guidance of the Principal Dr. Neera  Sharma with the aim to encourage participation in sports and develop qualities of leadership, Co – operation , discipline , fair play and team spirit. Much excitement was seen among the students who performed to their best, keeping the spirit of the game high. The students were divided into four teams. The semifinal matches were held between science stream and Arts Stream and commerce A & B and Commerce C & D. The final match  was held between Science Stream and Commerce  A & B . The final match ,  which was a tough match was won by Commerce A & B  2 – 1, Some scintillating  shots and performances par excellence were witnessed during the matches.

Regional Director , Punjab Zone  – A ,  Dr. (Mrs.) Neelam Kamra  and the Manager of the school  Dr. Rajesh  Kumar , Principal DAV College Amritsar congratulated the winning  team and said that such activities would help  in the all round development of the students.

Dr. Neera Sharma  Principal of the school showed her satisfaction at the successful conclusion of the tournament . She encouraged the students and the teachers who have put in their best for the tournament. She added that the values learnt through such activities go a long way in shaping the future of the students.
