Students Pay Homage to Guru Dev Rabindra Nath Tagore

Amritsar, May 7 (Punjab Post Bureau)- The students of DAV Public School , Lawrence Road , Amritsar paid homage to Guru Dev Rabindranath Tagore,  who reshaped Bengali literature and music as well as Indian art. The students remembered the great poet, play writes, painter, musician , composer and above all an educator by singing songs and reciting poems penned by him. Gurudev’s famous song ‘Ekla chalo’ reverberated in the school. The students explored  the life and work of this multi –faceted humanist. Through the medium of art , gurudev encouraged mutual understanding , peace and brotherhood. This true patriot and literary genius was the first non – Europeon to win the Noble Prize in 1913. The students reflected on his works which have a universal appeal. They took a pledge to make India a country of his dreams where the head is always held high.

Regional Director Punjab Zone – A , Dr. (Mrs.) Neelam Kamra  and the Manager of the school Dr. Rajesh Kumar , Principal DAV College Amritsar sent their blessings for the students  on  this occasion. They said that Guru Dev was a great visionary and was in favour of education that enhanced knowledge and built strong foundation. They added that students must learn from the life of this legend.

Dr. Neera Sharma Principal of the school said that today was the time to reflect and innovate and be inspired by the vision of Guru Dev Rabindranath Tagore. She urged the teachers to take inspiration from his famous quote, “ Don’t’ limit a child to your own leaning , for he was born in another time .”
