Western Command Children Summer Adventure Camp- 2016 starts

Jammu, May 22 (Punjab Post Bureau) – The hills of Manali being the destination for adventure seekers and nature lovers is going to witness the Army’s Western Command Children Summer Adventure Camp commencing from 23 May 2016 and is likely to be attended by over 600 children. The camp serves as an exciting excursion for the young and energetic children in the lap of nature during their summer vacations, with the aim to develop them into a responsible citizens of this country through multifarious educational, recreational and adventure activities.

            The month long camp has been planned in three batches, each of a week’s duration. The camps which are scheduled from 23 May to 21 June 2016 will focus on inculcating spirit of adventure, fostering espirit-de-corps amongst the children and exposing them to the bounties of nature. A variety of activities like tent pitching, camp cooking, trekking, river rafting, rock climbing, zorbing, talent hunt etc. have been planned to make the camp interesting and to discover the ingenious talent of the children. The camp will also focus on the social responsibilities through exposure to various national themes including Swachha Bharat, Tree Plantation, Yoga and mid day meal in a government school.
