Hiking tracking camp for Boys concludes at GNDU Holiday Home, Dalhousie

 Amritsar, June 13 (Punjab Post Bureau) – The Guru Nanak Dev University has organized a Hiking Tracking Camp of boys at the Students Holiday Home, Dalhousie. As many as 105 students from 13 affiliated colleges participated in this camp. This camp was hosted by the Department of Youth Welfare of the University.

Prof. Karanjit Singh Kahlon, Dean, Students’ Welfare of the University was the chief guest at the valedictory function of this camp. While blessing the campers, he said that internet and computer should be used for the welfare of society. He said that youth activities along with the studies are the integral part of overall personality development of the students. These activities also inculcate students a sense of discipline and national integration.  He said that students should aware of their responsibilies and they should respect their elders to excell in their lives.

Dr. Ravinder Kaur Kahlon from Khalsa College, Amritsar was the guest of honor and Dr. Kawaljit Singh from Punjabi University Patiala was the special guest of this occasion.

The campers visited Panchpula, Kala Top, Dain Kund, Khajjiar and Dalhousie during this camp. Events like extempore, debate, folk song, poetry recitation and dance were also organized on this occasion. Prof. Kahlon and others also gave away the prizes to the winners. Earlier, Dr. Jagjit Kaur welcomed the guests and gave the details about the activities of the Department

Mr. Arun Sharma of SSM College Dinanagar was adjudged the Best Camper while Mr. Bini Kapoor from GNDU College Jalandhar stood second best Camper and Mr. Harjit Singh of GNDUC Verka was remained third. The team of Khalsa College of Education Amritsar was adjudged as first best disciplined teams while team of SSM College Dinanagar was second best disciplined team and GNDUC Verka was remained third.
