
Amritsar, July 1 (Punjab Post Bureau)n- Chief Khalsa Diwan Charitable Society observed the 300th martyrdom day of Sikh General Baba Banda Singh Bahadur by organising a light-and-sound play “ Deg Teg Fateh : in Sri Guru Harkrishan Public Sen. Sec. School, G.T. Road. The presence of models attired as historical Sikh warriors with horses in traditional style, Gatka performances, installation of Khalsa flags and Nishan Sahib, Baba Banda Singh’s arms exhibition, presentation of Sikh historical coins presented the true picture of Punjab History in the show.
- Manjit Singh G.K ( President , Delhi Gurudwara Management Committee ) witnessed the grand show as Chief Guest and Jathedar Akal Takht Sahib, Singh Sahib Giani Gurbachan Singh as an honorable guest. The program began with School Shabad followed by welcome address of President CKD Charanjit Singh Chadha. S. Chadha said that Banda Singh Bahadur fought many battles against cruelty of the rulers in favor of truth and justice protecting honour and tradition of Sikh religion and all must learn lesson from the life of such great personality.
Afterwards a power point presentation depicting the life of Khalsa symbol Baba Banda Singh Bahadur .was conducted by scholar Dr. Balwant Singh Dhillon (Professor Guru Nanak Sikh Studies Dept. G.N.D.U). Then Light and Sound play written by Dr. Inderjit Singh Gogoani ( Head Sikh History and Research Dept., Khalsa College) and directed by Kewal Dhaliwal was staged artistically exposing various life aspects of courageous life of first sovereign ruler of Punjab i.e Baba Banda Singh Bahadur. The book named “Baba Banda Singh Bahadur “published by Chief Khalsa Diwan was released on the occasion. Giani Gurbachan Singh and the Chief Guest S. Manjit Singh G.K was honored by President S. Charanjit Singh Chadha. Vice President S. Dhanraj Singh, Resident President S. Nirmal Singh, Honorary Secy, S. Narinder Singh Khurana and other CKD dignitaries. Giani Gurbachan Singh appreciated the efforts of Chief Khalsa Diwan to express the statesmanship and prejudicial personality of Baba Banda Singh Bahadur in such a way through play..
Addressing the gathering Chief Guest S. Manjit Singh G.K said that there is a need to educate people about the rich history and tradition of Punjab including its leaders like Banda Singh Bahadur and such functions would go a long way in creating awareness in the minds of younger generation. The program culminated with honoring ceremony of 10th generation of Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Joginder Singh Sodhi Jammu wale, Sri Krishan Kumar ji Bawa (President Baba Banda Singh bahadur International Foundation). Dr. Jaswinder Singh Dhillon acted as a stage secretary. At this occasion, MLA Khadouor Sahib S. Ravinder Singh Brahmpura, District President Akali Dal S. Gurpartap Singh Tikka, S. Harjit Singh Chadha, S. Jaswinder Singh Jassi, S. Harminder Singh, S. Navpreet Singh Sahni, S. Santokh Singh Sethi, S. Sarabjit Singh, S. Jaswinder Singh Advocate, S. Kulljit Singh (Singh Brothers) along other Member Incharges and CKD principals were present.
