Hiking trekking camp for girls organized at GNDU Holiday Home Dalhousie

Amritsar, July 5 (Punjab Post Bureau) – The Guru Nanak Dev University has organized a Hiking Trekking Camp of girls at the Students Holiday Home, Dalhousie. As many as 110 students from 12 affiliated colleges participated in this camp. This camp was hosted by the Department of Youth Welfare of the University.

Dr. Surjit Singh, Principal, B.N.S. College, Muhaar presided over the valedictory function. S. Paramjit Singh, Chairman, Dalhousie Gas Service was the chief guest at the valedictory function of this camp. Dr. Kamla was the guest of honor. Dr. Jagjit Kaur welcomed the guests and gave the details about the activities of the Department.

Ms. Khushboo from MGN College of Education, Jalandhar was adjudged the Best Camper while Ms. Tarunjot Kaur from Khalsa College of Law Amritsar stood second best Camper and Ms. Jaswinder Kaur of Khalsa College of Amritsar was remained third. The team of MGN College of Education, Jalandhar was adjudged as first best disciplined teams while team of Khalsa College of Law Amritsar was second best disciplined team and Mata Gana Girls College, Tarn Taran was remained third.

The campers visited Panchpula, Kala Top, Dain Kund, Khajjiar and Dalhousie during this camp. Events like extempore, debate, folk song, poetry recitation and dance were also organized on this occasion. Prof. Tung and others also gave away the prizes to the winners.
