
Amritsar, Aug. 6 (Punjab Post Bureau) – DAV Public School, Lawrence Road observed Hiroshima Day in remembrance of the people who died due to an atom bomb, which was dropped on the Japanese city of Hiroshima on August 6 , 1945. Millions of souls perished due to a single catastrophic explosion. In the morning assembly the students paid tribute to those who lost their lives in the bombing and also took pledge against war and to make a nuclear free world. They also joined hands in their prayers for ‘no more Hiroshimas in future.
Regional Director, Punjab Zone – A Dr. (Mrs.) Neelam Kamra and Dr. Rajesh Kumar Manager of the school, said that war is not an answer to any conflict and it is very important to make the young generation aware of the perils of war. Principal of School, Dr. Neera Sharma, emphasised that we must all work together for global peace and brotherhood. With increasing insecurities at the global level we need to develop mutual understanding and realise that peace is the best self defence.
