Amritsar, 27 August (Punjab Post Bureau) – 142nd Defence Pension Adalat was organised in Amritsar on 26-27 August 2016 under the aegis of 15 Infantry Division at “Hayde Auditorium” by Defence Pension Disbursing Office, Amritsar, on behalf of Controller General of Defence Accounts, Delhi. Mr SK Kohli IDAS, Controller General of Defence Accounts was the chief guest for the event and Sh Kanwaldeep Singh, IDAS Controller of Defence Accounts (Pension Disbursement) Meerut also graced the occasion.
The Adalat was organised with an aim to look into and solve the pension related grievances of Defence Pensioners and their families. During the two day event, the Adalat attended to the grievances of about 250 Defence Pensioners from Amritsar and adjoining district of Gurdaspur. Extensive administrative arrangements which included establishment of reception cells at both railway station and bus stand, provision of transport, tea and lunch was made by DPDO Amritsar and 15 Infantry Division for the smooth conduct of the event. All the ex-servicemen were well contented as patience hearing was given to all their queries and efforts were made to settle their complaints on the spot. The event was a huge success.
