Amritsar, Sept. 15 (Punjab Post Bureau)- On the occasion of world First Aid Day, A one day lecture was organized under the aegis of NSS at DAV College, Amritsar on September 14, 2016. World First Aid Day aims at raising awareness of how first aid can prevent injuries and save lives in everyday and crisis situations, as well as at promoting the accessibility of the first aid.
Dr Ashwani Verma was the Key Speaker during the event. The event was organised by NSS Programme Officers Prof Ashu Vij, Prof Puneet Sharma and Prof Amanjot Kaur. Principal Dr Rajesh Kumar extended floral welcome to the guest. Principal Dr. Rajesh Kumar appreciated the efforts of the co-ordinators for organizing such an event. He said that the students should be well aware to act on, prevent, and manage life’s emergencies. Dr Ashwani Verma, Medical Officer of the College shared his views with students regarding what is to be done in case of medical emergency. He explained the importance of first aid training in preventing injuries and saving lives. He also added that First aid training provides more than the knowledge and skills to effectively respond – it also provides the confidence to act when needed. Besides the Programming Officers NSS, others staff members were also present during the occasion.
