western Army Commander Visits Vajra Corps

Jalandhar, September 29 (Punjab Post Bureau)- Lt Gen Surinder Singh, the Western Army Commander, visited Headquarters Vajra Corps at Jalandhar on 28 and 29 September 2016. He was briefed by the GOC on the operational preparedness of the Army in the region. the Army Commander subsequently visited forward locations in Gurdaspur and Amritsar and appreciated efforts being made by all to enhance the levels of preparedness. While interacting with field commanders he emphasized on the need to ensure a high degree of readiness at all levels with special reference to the areas adjoining J&K like Pathankot and Gurdaspur. He further reiterated upon greater coordination and co-operation with BSF and all intelligence agencies in the area for a better synergy.
