Golden Jubilee Year and Grandparents Day Celebrated at SGHPS

Amritsar, October 6 (Punjab Post Bureau) – SGHPS has achieved another milestone in its history: The Golden Jubilee Year. The school which began its gratifying odyssey in 1967 embarked on its Golden Jubilee Year on October 6, 2016. To commemorate the grand 50^th year of the school foundation, a divine Akhand Path followed by Bhog and Ardaas was conducted on October 6, 2016 in school hall. A euphoric celebration was organized in the form of a cultural extravaganza. The word Grandparents conjures up a unique role where the dual role of parenting is manifest. So to felicitate and honour the divine angels, SGHPS observed Grandparents day on this momentous occasion of the Golden Jubilee year. The ingenious Grandparents were also given the opportunity to witness the whole carnival along with their grandkids. The event was graced with the presence of admired dignitaries of the town. S. Tajinder Pal Singh, ADC Amritsar showed his valuable presence as Chief Guest. S. Surinderjit Singh Pall, Trustee Kes Sambhal Prachar Sanstha and Retd. Chief Commissioner, Income Tax was the guest of Honour. Chief Guest emphasized on the importance of a child associated with his traditional roots, role of joint family and its contribution in building child’s character.

                             S. Charanjit Singh Chadha, President CKDCS while presiding over the function, advised grand parents to imbibe respect for their religion, culture and tradition and to descent moral values to the next generation. The program was ushered in by a scintillating dance performances followed by the inspirational words showered by the Chief Guest and the Guest of Honour. On this occasion, SGHPS took pride in honouring the ex–pillars of the institution Mrs DK Rahi, Mrs. B Manmohan Singh, Mrs. SK Chawla, Mrs. SK Makkar and Mrs. Surinder Kaur. They had left no stone unturned in taking this citadel to the zenith. Prizes were given to the students who excelled in essay writing competition organized by Kes Sambhal Parchar Society. The tiny minis of the primary floor made the maximum use of the show to spread the exaltations on the commencement of the glorious 50^th year. The school prospectus for the academic year 2017-18 was also released on this glorious occasion by the eminent guests and the Member Incharges of the school S. Harminder Singh Ji and S. Navpreet Singh Sahni. The trailblazer of this edifice, Principal/Director Dr. Dharam Veer Singh along with Supervisor Primary floor Ms. Manju Sapra, thanked the august gathering for being a part of this resplendent extravaganza. S. Harminder Singh Manager School through his vote of thanks acknowledged the tireless hours of work and strenuous efforts of the whole SGHPS team.
