
Amritsar, October, 20 (Punjab Post Bureau) – IVE Children NGO and Radio Mirchi 104.8FM launched food donation campaign Annapurna at the slums of Chamrang Road in the presence of Dr. Navjot Kaur Sidhu, MLA today. This campaign was started by Radio Mirchi’ s RJ Heer and NGO partners IVE Children to help utilise surplus food that goes waste in hotels, restaurants, marriages and other occassion and distribute that food to the underprivileged people around the city. Hotel Ramada has joined hands with this campaign and come forward to give their surplus food whenever they have parties. Radio Mirchi Team including RJ Heer and Honey and Programming Head Parvez Bhateja and Hotel Ramada team with their executive Chef Subhash, Operations Head Gaurav came all the way to the slums of Chamrang Road to flag off this campaign. IVE Children’s Pearl and Aditya have been working with poor children of slums for the past 10 years trying to provide good and quality education and other facilities. Dr. Sidhu while addressing the slum dwellers and all others urged people to help educate their children and asked more and more people and organizations to join hands and make this campaign Annapurna a success. She also added that since winters are coming people should come forward to donate woolen blankets for the poor.
