66th World Sikh Edu. Conference begins in Sri Guru Harkrishan Sr. Sec. Public School

Amritsar, November 4 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Chief Khalsa Diwan Educational Committee which was set up in 1908, organized a 3 days 66^th World Sikh Educational Conference from November 04 to 06, 2016 at Sri Guru Harkrishan Sr. Sec. Public School, G.T. Road under the leadership of Charanjit Singh Chadha. The conference attracted a large number of renoward educationists and eminent personalities from social, political and religious spheres from all over the world.

The event began with the ‘Bhog of Sri Akhand Paath Sahib Ji’ in newly built Gurudwara Sri Kalgidhar Sahib and the rendition of the sacred Shabad Kirtan by Bhai Lakhwinder Singh Ji Hazoori Raagi Sri Harimandir Sahib and Kirtan Jatha of Bibi Prabhjot Kaur and Bibi Gunwant Kaur of G.T. Road School. The ‘Ardas’ was performed by Giani Gurbachan Singh, Jathedar Sri Akal Takht Sahib. He inaugurated the exhibition showcasing books on subjects such as Sikh Art & Arti Facts, Educational Techniques and Traditional Musical Instruments & Weapon Literary works, organic eatables, seeds, fertilizers, organic honey and other products were also displayed, Edu Tech 2016 displayed innovative Learning & Teaching Techniques and devices along with Hi-tech glass laptop. Models depicting traditional villages and fairs, steam drive generators were also displayed in the exhibition. The experts briefed the participants about the advantages of Organic & Natural Farming.

Seminars were also conducted on various resourceful topics like Sikh Educational Institutes and Employment Opportunities, Principles of Sikhism related to Environment &, Organic Farming, Challenges faced by World Sikh Society, Sikh Culture & Role of Communication. The Sikh Educationists stressed on the need to make the present generation connected with their rich tradition & culture.

Dr. P. Singh,  Santokh Singh Sethi, Dr. Inderjit Kaur President All India Pingalwara Society,  Kundan Singh Sajjan Canada and  Varinder Singh Walia Chief Editor Punjabi Jagran witnessed the seminars as the Chief Guest A Light and Sound Show based on the Life History of Guru Gobind Singh Ji under the title ‘Wah Pargatiyo Mard Agamra’ directed by Mr. Narinder Sanghi dedicated to the  350^th Anniversary of the 10^th Guru Gobind Singh Ji would be staged late in the evening where Sh. Shwait Malik M.P. Rajya Sabha and Mr Sonali Giri Commissioner Municipal Corporation would grace the occasion with their presence. The eminent personalities who were present on the occasion were  Dhanraj Singh Vice President,  Narinder Singh Khurana Honorary Secretary Chief Khalsa Diwan Charitable Society,  Nirmal Singh Resident President, Dr. Jaswinder Singh Dhillon Honorary Secretary Educational Committee,  Harminder Singh and  Navpreet Singh, Principal/Director Dr. Dharam Veer Singh and  Santokh Singh Sethi, Er.
