District Legal Services Authority Amritsar announced as Best DLSA

Amritsar, November 18 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Hon’ble Chairman, Punjab Legal Services Authority Chandigarh announced District Legal Services Authority Amritsar as Best DLSA out of all the Districts in Punjab due to services done in favour of public interest as well as legal aid schemes. There are so many awareness seminars conducted by DLSA, Amritsar. 1158 persons were provided Free Legal Aid and 1200 persons got benefits of legal advice from the front office of DLSA Amritsar. Apart from this, seminars/camps also conducted regarding Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, Drugs, Female foeticide as well as Domestic Violence. In addition to this, medical camps were also conducted at Central Jail, Amritsar. Benefits of Pension Schemes, Adhaar Cards and Gas connections were also availed by so many needy persons by DLSA, Amritsar. Camps regarding Pension schemes were also conducted at Pingalwara, Amritsar. Awareness camps regarding labour schemes were also conducted. An amount of Rs.13,50,000/- compensated to 27 victims of rape cases and an amount of Rs.25,000/- compensated to the victim of acid attack. Camps/seminars regarding legal awareness were also conducted at Heritage Mela and Pitex Mela. Mentally retarded male and female persons were also got admitted in the Mental Hospital after getting reception order from CJM, Amritsar. 124765 number of cases were settled in Lok Adalats of this year and total amount of Rs.435026946/- was awarded in these cases. Apart from this, 489 cases were settled in Permanent Lok Adalat (PUS), Amritsar and total amount of Rs. 14580632/- was awarded in these cases.
