Children’s Day Celebrations at SGHPS

Jawaharlal Nehru the school hosted a function under the aegis of Amritsar Sahodaya Schools Complex in which 85 students along with their mentors and parents participated. Dr. Dharam Veer Singh, President Sahodaya Schools Complex extended a warm welcome to the Chief Guest Dr. Jagroop Singh Sekhon, Controller Exams, GNDU Amritsar and the Guest of Honour Dr. Manjit Singh Deputy Director, CBSE. The programme commenced with the blessings of the Almighty by the rendition of the school shabad ‘ Deh Shiva Var Mohe’ followed by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by S. Charanjit Singh Chadha, President Chief Khalsa Diwan and S. Harminder Singh Member Incharge Sri Guru Harkrishan Sr. Sec. Public School, G.T> Road, Amritsar. A scintalizing welcome dance was presented by the students of Primary Section. On this occasion Dr. Dharam Veer Singh said that the parents and teachers play a vital role in the career development of a child. He congratulated the students on the occasion of Children’s Day.  A mesmerizing guitar performance left the audience spellbound. The cherry on the cake was the foot tapping ‘Giddha’ by the girls of IX and X standards who set the stage on fire with the vibrant display of sparkling dupattas. In his impressive speech , Dr. Sekhon briefed the students on Pt. Nehru’s life  and achievements and encouraged them to imbibe his principles. He said that today’s children are the stakeholders of tomorrow so they should be trained as the responsible stewards of dream India. 85 students from different CBSE schools were honored on the occasion for their meritorious achievements..  S. Charanjit Singh Chadha congratulated the students who were honoured on the occasion and motivated them to keep striving for higher achievements. Dr. Neera Sharma Secretary Sahodaya Schools Complex extended vote of thanks to the guests . The programme was attended by Mrs. Anita Bhalla, Dr. Neera Sharma, Mrs. Sarvjit Brar, Mrs. Ripudaman. Mrs. Harjit Kaur, Mrs. Nidhi Mehra, Mr. Sunil Mehra, Mrs. Sonia Singh, Mrs. Gurpreet Oberoi, Mrs. Paramjeet Kaur, S. Nageen Singh Bal, Mrs. Manjit Kaur, Mrs. Harjinder Kaur, Mr. Raman Dua, Headmistress of G.T.
