Amritsar Nov. 24 (Punjab Post Bureau) – PG Department of Punjabi of BBK DAV College for Women organized One Day International Seminar on Poetic Discourse of NRI Poet Dr. Mohinder Gill. Eminent poets from the world of Punjabi literature Prof. Satinder Singh, Former Pro-Vice-Chancellor, GNDU, Amritsar, Darshan Bulandavi, Poet and Secretary, Shabad Institute, South Hall, London, UK, Dr. Gurpal Singh Sandhu, Punjabi University, Chandigarh, Dr. Suhinderbir Singh, GNDU, Amritsar and Dr. Mohan Tyagi, Punjabi University, Patiala participated in the seminar. In his inaugural address, Dr. Satinder Singh expatiated upon the poetical journey of Dr. Mohinder Gill. Prof. Gurpal Singh delivered the keynote address highlighting the need to discuss the contemporary issues in Punjabi poetical discourse.
Chief Guest Dr. Mohinder Gill also shared the experience of his literary career. During the seminar, Dr. Paramjit Singh, Dr. Parveen, Dr. Mohan Tiyagi , Dr. Dariya, Dr. Manjinder Singh, Dr. Harsimran Kaur and Prof. Rajdeep Mehra presented papers on various topics related to the poetry of Dr. Mohinder Gill. In these papers, scholars dwelled upon different dimensions of his poetry. While welcoming the guests, Principal Dr. Pushpinder Walia said that such seminars not only motivate writers of the literary works, but also act as beacons for litterateurs and students of literature. She added that these seminars go a long way in the intellectual progress of students. Sh. Sudarshan Kapoor, Chairman, LMC, gave a vote of thanks. Dr. Rupinder Kaur, Head, PG Department of Punjabi, Dr. Rani, Dr. Sunita Sharma, along with other faculty members, and students were present in the seminar.
