Foundation stones for Food Courts laid at GNDU

Amritsar, Nov 29 (Punjab Post Bureau)- Vice-Chancellor, Prof. A.S. Brar laid the Foundation stone for Food Court for Girls Hostel and Common Food Court at Guru Nanak Dev University, here today.

Meanwhile, newly constructed Indoor Complex for University Health Centre having isolated ward, another wards for Gents & Ladies with modern facilities was also inaugurated by Prof. Brar. This extension included construction of Male, Female and Isolation wards and a Doctor’s Duty room The extension of the Health Centre has been done out of the grant of Rs 60 Lacs provided by the UGC under XIIth plan.

Prof. N.S. Tung, Dean Academic Affair; Prof. Sharanjit Singh Dhillon, Registar, Prof. K.S Kahlon, Dean Student’s Welfare; Prof. R.K Mahajan, Dean College Development Council; Dr. H.S Randhawa, Deputy Director Sports; Er. H.S Tinna, Incharge Bhai Lalo Construction Department; Dr. Rajesh Kalia, Deputy Registrar; Sh. Tirath Singh, Incharge Computer Centre,   Sh. Sukhdev Singh, Security Officer, Wardens of Girls Hostel and staff of engg deptt were also present on the occasion.

Prof. Brar said that these State of Art two storeys buildings for food courts would accommodate 400 and 500 students at one time respectively. He said that area of food courts is 13850 sft and 19700 sft and estimated cost is 2.45 crore and 3.30 crore respectively. He said that the objective of these buildings is to provide delicious and healthy varities of food for students under one roof.
