
Amritsar, Dec. 12 (Punjab Post Burea) – The PG Department of Commerce and Business Administration of Khalsa College Amritsar today organized a three-days Workshop on Income tax, GST, Capital Market, Accounting and Banking in which was inaugurated by charted accountant Sanjay Kapoor, who is also the Director, Oriental Bank of Commerce. In his inaugural address he stated that education is most important tool in the hands of the common citizen to change their lot.
He opined that India is a country comprising of youths so its future lies in safe hands and the younger generation will take the country to new heights in development and progress. He also gave detailed account of the present demonetization by the Centre to check the black money and the fake currency. During the occasion a well equipped computer lab of the Commerce Department was also inaugurated by Principal Dr. Mehal Singh.
Dr. JS Arora, Head and Dean, of the faculty Dr. Poonam Sharma, coordinator of workshop said that the purpose of workshop is to acquaint the students with the contemporary issues and practical exposure in the field of Taxation, Accounting, Capital Markets and Banking. The experts of the concerned fields will impart students with valuable knowledge about the aforesaid areas and sharpen up their practical base, they said.
The other key speakers were Sudhir Khera, Chairman, Amritsar Branch of Northern India Regional Council, Iqbal Singh Grover, Vikas Arora, Davinder Singh, Secretary, Rupinder Singh Madaan, Vaibhav Mediratta, Amit Handa and Gaurav Sharma.
