Swachhata Pakhwada at Military Station Beas

Jalandhar, December 16 (Punjab Post Bureau) – In pursuance of the aim of achieving a clean and green environment, ‘Swachhata Pakhwada’ was observed by all ranks and families at Military Station Beas from 01-15 Dec 2016. The event commenced with the ‘Swachhata Shapath’ by all ranks followed by talks on importance of cleanliness and role of Armed Forces in conservation of ecology. Cleanliness and tree plantation drives were organized within the military station which saw active and enthusiastic participation of one and all.

          The mantle of ensuring clean and serene environs was ably shared by the students of Army Public School, Beas. The efforts of these young children in spreading awareness on the subject and their willing participation were praiseworthy. The ladies also showcased their creative side by making innovative articles out of household waste which were also put on display to inspire and motivate others towards the cause. This display of ‘Best Out of Waste’ marked the culmination of activities and events carried out as part of the fortnight. Cleanliness is a continuous process and the Army will continue to contribute towards ensuring it.
