BBK DAV Bags Runners-Up Position in Gndu Inter-College Boxing Championship

Amritsar, December 17 (Punjab Post Bureau)- Boxing team of BBK DAV College for Women got runners-up position in the GNDU Inter-College Boxing Championship held at Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar. College team gave a splendid show by defeating HMV College, Jalandhar, Khalsa College for Women, Amritsar, BD Arya College, Jalandhar (Cantt.) and KN College, Phagwara. Two players of the college Ms. Diksha and Jagwant Kaur have been selected for all India Intervarsity Championship going to be held at Lovely Professional University, Jalandhar in December 2016. Diksha, Jagwant Kaur, Komalpreet Kaur, Gurpreet Kaur, Deepika, Rekha, Rajbir Kaur, Prabhdeep Kaur, Karamjeet Kaur and Manjinder Kaur participated in the GNDU Inter-College Boxing Championship.

Principal Dr. Pushpinder Walia congratulated the young achievers and motivated them to maintain their performance in future as well. She added that the college players have always made a mark in various Championships and, as a result, BBK DAV is a forerunner in sports. Mrs. Sweety Bala, Head, Department of Physical Education, along with other faculty members, felicitated the players on their achievements.
