Amritsar, February 2 (Punjab Post Bureau) – A special morning assembly was conducted at DAV Public School Lawrence Road to mark the birth anniversary of Swami Shraddha Nand. He was an educationist and Arya Samaj missionary who propagated the teachings of Swami Dayanand Saraswati. He was a promoter of education for girls and sacrificed his lucrative profession when a call came from Swami Dayanand Saraswati to serve Arya Samaj. He spent his life serving the nation by joining the struggle for independence under the leadership of Gandhi.
The assembly began with the recitation of the holy Gayatri Mantra and DAV Gaan. After that the students informed about the inspirational life of Swami. The students also presented a role play highlighting his philosophy and his working for the betterment of the country. They also recited poems and took a pledge to follow his ideals. Regional Director Punjab Zone A Dr. (Mrs.) Neelam Kamra and the Manager of the school Dr. Rajesh Kumar in their message said that students must follow the ideals shown by the great saints and imbibe Vedic ideals to lead a fruitful life. Dr. Neera Sharma Principal of the school advised the students to look upto the inspirational life of Swami and try to imbibe his ideals in their lives.
