Amritsar, February 22 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Department of Biotechnology, Guru Nanak Dev University organized the “Global Initiative For Academic Networks (GIAN)” program of Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), from 20-25th Feb. 2017. This program focused on tapping the talent pool of scientists and entrepreneurs internationally to encourage their engagement with the institutes of Higher Education in India so as to augment the country’s existing academic resources, accelerate the pace of quality reform, and elevate India’s scientific and technological capacity to global excellence. Dr. Arthur G. Hunt from University of Kentucky, USA acted as foreign faculty for the course entitled “Post-transcriptional Control of Gene Expression in Eukaryotes”. The function was inaugurated by Prof. (Dr.) Navdeep Singh Tung, Dean academic affairs, Guru Nanak Dev University. Prof. Pratap Kumar Pati, who is the course coordinator, introduced the course to the participants. Around 181 participants registered online for the course and 153 participated in the program.
