Amritsar, February 24 (Punjab Post Bureau) – A bitter sweet farewell was given to the outgoing batch of +2 of Shri Guru Harkrishan Public Sen Sec. School. The day was a fiesta devoted to the years spent together with friends and teachers to reminisce the joyous moments. The auditorium was festooned with pink and blue ribbons and dazzling lights. The Chief Guest Harminder Singh and Mrs. B. Manmohan Singh were given a warm floral welcome. An incredible choreography was presented by the students of grade +1 which was well applauded. A scintillating dance in Bollywood style and the pulsating music rocked the ambience. A solo Western Dance presented by Jaideep Singh of +1 F was enjoyed by everyone. A Punjabi play under the direction of Mrs. Harmeet Sanghi based on the theme of ‘Drugs’ was also presented on the occasion. Five students were honored who brought laurels for the school in their respective fields. Harleen Kaur and Harpreet Singh were honored as the Artists of the school, Bikramjot Singh was honored as the Best singer and Arpan Bajwa and Noorpreet were honored as the sports prodigies of the school. Harmanpreet Singh and Mankaran Singh were also awarded certificates for participating in National Science competition 2017 in New Delhi.
Harminder Singh addressing the students blessed them good luck for the new horizons and a bright career ahead. As the students left the auditorium they had a bag of mixed emotions. While one part was tearful about the closing of a beautiful chapter of their life, the other was awaiting the beginning of a new chapter. Principal/Director Dr. Dharam Veer Singh urged the students to keep working hard in future and achieve their goals by performing well in board as well as competition exams. He blessed them good luck and bright future. As the students vacated the auditorium they left behind a certain air of sadness and nostalgia.
