Flagging Off of 10 Guards Cycle Expedition From Marhi To Pooh

Jalandhar, March 2 (Punjab Post Bureau) –  A Cycle expedition by 10 GUARDS was flagged off from Kapurthala Military Station by Brigadier Sandeep Singh, Commander, Double Victory Brigade. The team comprising of 12 members is led by Lieutenant Sawan Verma of 10 GUARDS. The Cycle expedition will traverse the arduous terrain of Himachal Pradesh with the team scaling various mountainous features, the highest being Marhi at an altitude of approximately 11000 feet. The expedition members will be self-contained in all the respects for the duration of the expedition and will cover a total distance of 422 Km of inhospitable terrain in nine days.  The expedition has been launched with the aim to develop team spirit, camaraderie, character building and leadership qualities among the troops as well as to motivate the youth of far flung hilly areas to join the great Indian Army. Brig Sandeep Singh handed over the expedition flag to the expedition leader and wished the team success in the subject expedition.
