Punjab Constitutes Vigilance Committees To Abolish Bonded Labour

Fazilka, June 19 (Vaneet Arora) – The Punjab Government has constituted the vigilance committees for Fazilka District and its sub divisions which are Fazilka Sub-division, Jalalabad and Abohar sub-division to abolish bonded labour. A notification in this regard has already been issued. Disclosing this here today, an official spokesperson of the state government said that these committees have been constituted under the sub-section (1) of section 13 of the Bonded Labour System (Abolition) Rules, 1976. He said that District Vigilance Committee comprised of Chairman and 9 members. The District Magistrate would be the Chairman of the Districts Level Committee, while Mr. Mangat Ram Chahal, Mr. Raj Kumar, Mr. Master Mohan Lal Chand, Smt. Kamta Choudhary, Mr. Ramesh Verma, Tehsildaar,Abohar, Block Development and Panchyat Officer, Jalalabad, Sub Divisional Officer, Rural Development, Fazilka and Manager, The Fazilka Central Cooperative Bank, Abohar would be inducted as members.
The spokesperson further said that for Fazilka Sub-division Vigilance Committee, Sub Division Magistrate (SDM), Fazilka would be the Chairman, while Mr. Karnail Singh, Member Zila Parishad, Fazilka, Master Swaran Singh, Mr. Mukhtiara Ram, Mr. Rakesh Sachdeva, Mr. Gagan Chopra, Block Development and Panchyat Officer, Fazilka, Tehsildar, Fazilka, Secretary, Market Committee, Fazilka, Labour Inspector, Fazilka and Manager, Lead Bank (Punjab National Bank), Fazilka would be the members of the committee. Similarly, the Jalalabad Sub-Division Vigilance Committee would comprise of Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM), Jalalabad as Chairman and Mr. Mukhtiar Singh, Mr. Gurdev Singh, Mr. Bishambar Singh, Mr. B.M Ranu, Mr. Jass Raj Kathpal,Tehsildar, Jalalabad, Block Development and Panchyat Officer, Guruharsahai, Block Development and Panchyat Officer, Jalalabad, Labour Inspector, Fazilka and Manager, The Jalalabad Central Coperative Bank, Jalalabad would be the members of the committee. He further said that for Abohar Sub-division Vigilance Committee, Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM), Abohar would be the Chairman, while Mr.Gurmej Lal Gezi, Mr. Thakur Dass, M.C.Abohar, Mr. Des Raj, Mr. Kirpa Ram, Smt. Saroj Rani, Tehsildar, Abohar, Block Development and Panchyat Officer, Abohar, Secretary, Market Committee, Abohar, Labour Inspector, Abohar and Manager, Fazilka Central Cooperative Bank Limited, Abohar would be the members of the committee.
