University organized lecture on Guru Gobind Singh Ji’s bestowed gift to Indian Culture

Amritsar, March 16 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Guru Nanak Studies Department of Guru Nanak Dev University organized a lecture on “Sri Guru Gobind Singh ji’s bestowed gift to Indian Culture’. This lecture was organized in collaboration with Principal Iqbal Singh Memorial Trust. Renowned Sikh philosopher, Professor Harbhajan Singh, Director Bhai Balbir Singh center on studies, Punjabi University, Patiala delivered this lecture. He explained Culture as a systematic and organized way of living. He emphasized on the fact that Sri Guru Gobind Singh ji defined the Indian culture in new terms and blessed it with such universality that made it vast and and strong enough to embrace the entire otherness of all various traditions.

            Professor Gulzar Singh Kang, Director, Centre on Studies on Sri Guru Granth Sahib of the University presided over. Professor Kang explained the uniqueness that was blessed by Sri Guru Gobind Singh ji to the Indian culture which he said led to the formation of a new society. Professor Navdeep Singh Tung, Head of Department and Dean Academic Affairs welcomed all the guests. Dr. Manvinder Singh performed the duty of being the Stage Secretary and Dr. Pawan Kumar presented the Vote of thanks. Prof. Jaswinder Kaur Dhillon, Prof. Jasbir Singh Sabar, DIG S. Rupinder Singh, Prof. Jagdish Singh Mukerian, Prof. Gurcharan Singh Bal, Prof. Gurnam Singh Sanghera, Dr. Dalbir Singh, Prof. Rupinder Kaur, Prof. Manjinder Singh and a large number of scholars and students from various departments were present.
