Amritsar, March 16 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Three Day workshop for Scholars on Business Management” concluded at the UGC-Human Resource Development Centre, GNDU, Amritsar. As many as 32 budding research scholars pertaining to the various departments of the University and the constituent Colleges participated in it. Prof. B.S. Mann Head, University Business School presided over the valedictory session. Prof. Mann in his valedictory address counseled the research scholars to make an optimum use of such workshops conducted by the HRDC from time to time in order to get them acquainted with the nuances of the various research methodologies. They must learn to utilize simple appropriate research techniques instead of getting obsessed with the complex ones, he continued. What matters most in an authentic research is not only the research technique, but also the identification of the problem, collection of relevant data followed by correct interpretation. Asking the participants to work with dedication, devotion, patience and perseverance, he advised them to get their research paper published in the reputed journals only. He concluded his address by labeling the research as a long, arduous journey, which has no shortcut at all. Prof. Amarjit Singh Sidhu, Director, Human Resource Development Centre, expressed the hope that the aspirations of the participants from this workshop must have been definitely met. He exhorted them to interact with the fellow research scholars from a wide spectrum of disciplines as well, which goes a long way in broadening the horizon. No one can afford to confine oneself to one’s own discipline in the modern era, when the interdisciplinary approach is the need of the hour, he emphasized. The participants of the course profusely thanked the organizers for this endeavour and made a few fruitful suggestions. Earlier, Prof. B.S. Mann was accorded a floral welcome.
