Seminar on ‘TCS : Nurturing Young Leaders” by Mr. Varun Kapur at GNDU

PPN3003201717Amritsar, March 30 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Mr. Varun Kapur, Vice-resident, TCS Head of Middle East and Africa Geography conducted seminar on ‘TCS : Nurturing Young Leaders at Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar. More than 500 students of Computer Science, Computer Engineering and Electronics Technology departments of main campuses Regional campuses participated in the seminar. Mr. Narendra Chandel,  Regional Head – Talent Acquisition, North India, Ms. Surbhi,  Campus Hiring Lead North India, Mr. Gaurav Rana – Campus Team – TAG, Ms. Naini Jain – Recruiter Campus Hiring accompanied Mr. Varun Kapur.  Mr. Varun Kapur interacted with the students on various topics like Big Data and Analytics, Internet of Things (IOT) and Artificial Intelligence. The session was very informative and appreciated by the engineering background students of GNDU. It is important to mention that many top officials keep on visiting GNDU and the students are apprised about the latest trends and requirements in IT industry. Mr. Narendra Chandel and Ms. Surbhi provided the information to the students about the Campus Commune portal of TCS and various contests going on the portal.

TCS is already collaborating with GNDU for their ILP in house last semester training of students with Engineering background of GNDU. GNDU is the only institute in Northern India, wherein TCS is providing this training to students.Dr. Amit Chopra, Astt. Placement Officer welcomed the guests on this occasion. He informed that Dr. Ritu Anand Deputy Director Global Head HR TCS , Mr. Ananth Kirhsnan, Chief Technology Officer TCS have already visited the campus in the past. Dr. Navdeep Singh Tung, Dean Academic Affairs, Dr. T.S. Banipal, Director Research, Dr. R.S. Sawhney, Head Department of Electronics, Dr. Sandeep Sharma Head, Department of Computer Engineering interacted with the delegation of TCS. The visit of senior leadership to the campus speaks of the quality of GNDU, students and high demand in corporate world especially in IT sector.
