Capacity Building Workshop for Computer teachers held at DAV Public School

PPN3103201709Amritsar, March 31 (Punjab Post Bureau) – A one day Capacity Building Workshop for computer teachers teaching classes LKG to Std X was held at DAV Public School, Lawrence Road. The Workshop was organised under the aegis of DAV CAE, Regional Training Centre, DAV CMC, New Delhi. The workshop was inaugurated by revered Regional Director, Punjab Zone – A , Dr. (Mrs.) Neelam Kamra . Dr. Neera Sharma Principal of the school formally welcomed the Chief Guest and the resource persons. The ceremonial lighting of the lamp was followed by DAV Gaan. While addressing the participants, she said that the objective of these workshops was to bring a qualitative improvement in the teaching – learning process with the aim of enhancing learner achievement. She added that being educators, we must always upgrade ourselves to deal with changing trends in education. Stressing on the guidelines given by DAV CMC, she added that all teachers must follow new ICT books and no pen  – paper assessment should be given till Std VIII. As times are changing so with digitisation, class room teaching should also change according to it. She emphasised that no pirated softwares should be used in the labs and encouraged teachers to use open office software.  In the end, while blessing the participants, she said that teachers are the role models for the students so we must become ideal in our work. As many as 22 participants from the schools of Amritsar zone participated in the workshop. Mrs. Inderjit Sekhon from DAV Public School and Ms. Gurkawal Preet Kaur from DAV International were the resource persons for the workshops. The resource persons discussed the new curriculum and other teaching guidelines for the new session. Also many activities were shown to engage the students. They also stressed on the practical knowledge of the subject. Also chapter wise activities and methodology to be used while teaching in the class was discussed. In the interactive session the queries of the teachers were taken and they were resolved. Over all the workshop was a huge success. Dr. Neera Sharma, Principal of the school, thanked Dr. (Mrs.) Neelam Kamra for her guidance and said that knowledge is added by sharing and in today’s world everyone must have knowledge of computers. She added that all our students and teachers must have the basic knowledge of computers for a brighter future.
