DAV Public School Celebrates Earth Day

Amritsar, April 22 (Punjab Post Bureau) – The students of  Std XII Science DAV Public School  Lawrence Road conducted a special assembly on Earth Day around the theme ‘Environmental and Climate Literacy’ under the Earth Day Network  Programme. The students presented a cultural programme encompassing poetry recitation, skit and role play, environmental quiz and poster making contest for raising awareness among young minds to take initiative for safe earth and environment against human interference. The winners were honoured with young plants saplings and school environment club badges by Mrs. Neelam Singh (Sector Incharge), Mr. Kabal Singh (Sector Incharge), Ms. Shama Sharma (Cultural Supervisor) and Ms. Resham Sharma (Assembly Incharge) under the guidance of Principal Dr. Neera Sharma. The programme concluded with a special pledge taken to conserve   environment and practice sustainable management.

Regional Director Punjab Zone A Dr. (Mrs.) Neelam Kamra and Manager of the school Dr. Rajesh Kumar sent their best wishes to the students and advised them that it is the duty of every citizen to protect their environment as it helps to protect different ecosystems. Dr. Neera Sharma, Principal of the school addressed the students and reminded them of their responsibility towards mother Earth and to protect and save our fast depleting natural resources.
