Amritsar, May 13 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Guru Nanak Dev University is pioneer university of the region and students of this University are in great demand for placements not only in India but abroad also. Majority of students from various vocational and other courses got placed in various national and multinational companies through campus placements even before the completion of their formal studies. Recently, a multinational IT giant from Pune, Amdocs visited the University for Campus Placements of CSE and ECE department students passing out in June 2017. The company selected 13 students – B.Tech. CSE (10), B.Tech. ECE (2) and MCA (1). With this, the number of students placed with various National and Multinational software and other companies reached 598.
The selection process included online aptitude & technical test followed by technical and HR Interviews. Around 250 students from Amritsar, Jalandhar, Gurdaspur, Sultanpur Lodhi and Sathiala campuses appeared in the technical test. The selected 13 students were offered a handsome salary package of Rs. 4.50 lac per annum. The new recruits will join with Amdocs in June 2017. Dr. Palwinder Singh, Placement-in-Charge and Dr. Amit Chopra, Asstt. Placement Officer congratulated the students on this grand success. Many more companies have confirmed their visit in near future to recruit the students of GNDU. The demand for the GNDU students by the corporate world itself speaks of the quality infrastructure and facilities available at GNDU.
