Nobody will be allowed to play with the future of students – Aujla

Amritsar, May 14 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Gurjeet Singh AujlaMember Parliament Gurjeet Singh Aujla today took notice of the admissions done by the scrapped Khalsa University to play dirty politics with the future of students. Government of Punjab scrapped the Khalsa University Act 2016 on 19th April this year to save the historic 125-year-old Khalsa College from losing its heritage status by becoming a prey to privatization. Finance minister Manpreet Singh Badal had assured that this scrapping won’t jeopardize the future of the 300 students who had already taken admission in Khalsa University. Khalsa University management had got disaffiliated Khalsa College for Women and Khalsa College of Education from Guru Nanak Dev University in a bid to promote Khalsa University. The future of the students of these colleges is already hanging in a balance and now the scrapped university has started the admissions of new students. Aujla said that government has already planned to adjust those students who had enrolled before the scrapping of the university but those who have enrolled after the scrapping will have to pay the price themselves. He further said that he is going to demand legal action against the management of the scrapped university for appointing Vice-Chancellor, Dean etc. after the scrapping. Aujla alerted the masses that the management of scrapped university is planning to use the enrolled students as a bait to get legal stays etc. and they have no interest with education or the career of the students so the students must stay away from getting admission in scrapped university.

Aujla further informed that various student and teacher organizations have come in contact with his office and he has prepared a case to be sent to the Chief Minister for a strict action against the offenders. Aujla also assured that he will immediately get instructions for the re affiliation of Khalsa College for Women and Khalsa College of Education with Guru Nanak Dev University.
