Felicitation of Veteran on Completion of 100 Years

Jalandhar, Jun 18 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Capt Jawala Singh Grewal celebrated his 100^th Birthday on 1^st Apr 2017. He was enrolled in the Army (Corps of Signals) on 19^th Feb 1937 and retired from service on 1^st Apr 1972.  To felicitate the Centenarian on this special occasion senior officer Major General Harvijay Singh, Directorate General of Signals, Army Headquarters came from Delhi and presented him a token amount of Rs. One Lakh on behalf of Indian Army at a small ceremony organised at his residence Punjab Mata Nagar, Pakhowal Road, Ludhiana. On the occasion the local Army officers also interacted with him and he in turn recounted his days in the Army and gave advise on various issues. He expressed satisfaction on various facilities being made available to ex-serviceman and thanked everyone present for the felicitation. The General Officer assured the veteran and his family members of all the help from the Army and Corps of Signals fraternity.
