Ferozepur, Jun 28 (Punjab Post Bureau) – As an initiative to preserve women’s wellbeing, a comprehensive health
check-up camp was undertaken under the aegis of the Army Wives Welfare Association’s Project – Support to Training Education and Health Promotion (STEP). This exclusive ‘Well Women Clinic’ was established for this purpose at the Army General Hospital, Ferozepur which screened over 2000 women comprising dependents of service personnel to include wives, mothers and daughters, for certain diseases among women to include anemia, calcium deficiency, diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, breast cancer and cervical cancer to name some. This novel women’s health initiative was flagged off by Mrs. Chanda Kundra, Chairperson of Golden Arrow Family Welfare Organization on 28 Jun 2017 and this enterprise is to be carried forward in a phased manner in the coming months. The project is a sterling example showcasing the Organisation’s commitment towards health and welfare of women.
