Curtain Raiser: Western Commando Investiture Ceremony-2019

Amritsar, February 23 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Western Command Investiture Ceremony will be held at Hayde Auditorium, Amritsar Cantonment on 27 Feb 2019. Investiture Ceremonies are held across Indian Army every year to commemorate the gallantry award winners and other distinguished awards and citations to units who have excelled while performing their duty. The Investiture Ceremonies are held at Army Command level and are a mega facilitation event. This year the prestigious Western Command Investiture Ceremony is being organized under the aegis of Panther Division at Amritsar. A total of 49 Gallantry & distinguished service awards and 17 Unit Citations will be awarded by Lt. Gen. Surinder Singh, PVSM, AVSM**, VSM, GOC-in-C, Western Command. The category of awards which will be awarded are Yudh Seva Medal, Bar to Sena Medal (Gallantry), Sena Medal (Gallantry), Brar to Sena Medal (Distinguished), Sena Medal (Distinguished) and Vishisht Seva Medal. Apart from the high ranking military dignitaries prominent local civil dignitaries will also be attending the ceremony.
